I think too much

$77,000,000. Per Forbes.com, that is the exceptionally large amount of money earned by Leonardo Dicaprio in 2010-2011, who sat atop the list. $41,673.83. Per ssa.gov, is the average wage in America for the same time period. Dicaprio makes 1,847.62 times as much as the common man, per year. How does this make sense? I realize that we are dealing with averages, as well as the highest end of the spectrum, but look at it this way: hypothetically, let's pay all of our entertainers(actors, athletes, musicians, ect.) $1,000,000 per year. That is still 24 times the national average. If we applied that to the 77 million made last year, thy would leave a 76 million dollar excess. Which leads to my whole point, why is making 24 times what a normal person makes not enough? What does a person possibly need that can't be attained with 1 million duckets per year. What could we do with all that excess money you ask? Donate to charity, erase the national debt, end world hunger, cure cancer, the list goes on. I love movies, adore sports, and breathe music, but it's getting ridiculous. When I see an singer with a $250,000 necklace on MTV cribs, and I flip the channel and see commercials for children starving, it pisses me off. I am not a preacher, not a saint, and I probably don't work as hard as I should to help people, but I'm not rockin a chain that is worth more than what people make in 6 years. End case and point, even if most celebs donated 90% of their yearly salary, they would still be substantially better off than most of us.
