Travel blog part 1
I have arrived at the lovely Fairbanks International Airport, awaiting my flight to Missouri. Upon arrival at this facility I waited 40 Minutes to get my single bag checked. Why the wait? Oh, no reason. Just 30 or so Army soldiers with 5 bags each ahead of me in line. Don't they have their own non-civilian transportation methods? Don't get me wrong, I support the troops, just not when they are ahead of me at the airport. None the less I made it. Now after the security check I wait for the first leg of my journey. First to anchorage, 4 hour layover. Followed by seattle, 4 hour layover. Then to my destination at MCI in kansas city, at 4:15pm on saturday. Did I mention it's Friday and 8:00 pm?. It may sound like I am complaining, but trust me I'm not. No complaints, because greeting me is my beautiful wife and 3 wonderful children, whom haven't seen in a week. I stayed an extra week at home in an attempt to not miss an excessive amount of work. This trip will be a true test of my anti-social skills. I am making it a personal goal to talk to no one on this trip. It comforts me to be alone in a unknown place where not one person knows you. Even though I avoid people at all cost, they still try to make small talk with me. I can hardly blame them, I see the appeal and mystery I hold. Well, getting ready to board, wish me luck. Until my next stop, I bid thee farewell.
